Miguel Torhton Granados

Miguel Torhton Granados is a writer and educator from Mexico City. After studying Political Science and International Relations at Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE), he worked as a writer and communications specialist for policymakers in Mexico. His passion for public affairs nudged Miguel to earn a Master's in Public Policy at George Washington University as a Fulbright Scholar. Then, he was a professor at La Salle University Mexico for five years, where his previous academic research supported his design of a course on public opinion for undergraduate students. Miguel has also been a policy analyst for public institutions and non-governmental organizations. As a doctoral student, he aims to research educational policy to identify solutions that contribute to a more equitable and integrated future between the school systems in Mexico and the United States.

Aside from academics, Miguel has devoted many years to fiction writing as a fundamental creative practice. His work as a bilingual writer has been published in international publications, which has allowed him to be selected for artistic residencies in Mexico and the US. He currently works on a novel and lives with two xolas (Mexican hairless dogs): Rufina and Damiana.
