Profile
Daniela Iturra-Osorio is a Ph.D. student in Education Studies at the University of California, San Diego. Her research focuses on inclusive education and examines how neurodivergent children and their families navigate educational and health systems across different stages of development. Building on prior work on classroom-based practices and collaborative interventions, her current interests include autism and developmental language disorder (DLD), situated within broader forms of neurodivergence. She is particularly interested in how institutional arrangements, professional practices, and cross-sector coordination across systems shape support trajectories over the life course, including in international and comparative contexts.
Prior to her doctoral training, Daniela held academic appointments in Speech-Language Pathology and Special Education in Chile and completed graduate training in Spain. Her experience working across educational and health systems in different national contexts informs a mixed-methods, systems-oriented research approach aimed at generating evidence relevant to educational practice and policy.
