Lillie Ko Wong

Lillie Ko Wong is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Education Studies at the University of California, San Diego. She and her family are first generation Chinese immigrants from South Korea. Lillie obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis. She also earned her single subject teaching credential from the California State University, East Bay. She also received a Master of Education with a specific emphasis in Gender Equity from the California State University, Sacramento. Lillie worked as a middle school history teacher with minoritized students in the San Francisco Bay Area. Through her experiences in education, she became interested in researching equity issues and the educational outcomes of students of color. Her research interests are in teacher education and equity policies. As a Ph.D. student, Lillie is hoping to focus on educational inequities through the impact on teachers and students of color, specifically through teacher education and institutional equity.
