Profile
Ashley is a Phd Student in the EDS program who is interested in teacher training, teacher identity, and emergent English speaker student positioning and agency. Previous projects have concerned teacher beliefs and student self efficacy. Currently, she is working on a couple projects concerning English learner course access and positioning of Recently Arrived Immigrant English Learners (RAIELs) through discourse. She received her MATESL from the University of Arizona in 2020, her BA in Spanish Linguistics from the University of Arizona in 2018, and a BS in Learning, Literacy, and Leadership from the University of Arizona in 2018. For over 10 years she served the Tucson community through non-profit work as both a program coordinator and community educator. She identifies as bicultural, bilingual, dog mom, researcher, teacher, and advocate of linguistic diversity and global Englishes
