Hannah Hyun White

Hannah Hyun White (she/her) is a Korean American transracial/transnational adoptee from Phoenix, Arizona. She received her B.S. in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, B.A. in Linguistics, and M.A. in Higher Education from the University of Arizona and is now a fourth-year PhD student at the University of California, San Diego. Her research interests focus on amplifying the voices of transracial/transnational adoptee communities and understanding how neoliberal systems impact student activist experiences in higher education. Her research and praxis are largely influenced by Asian American feminist theories, Critical Adoption Studies, and decolonial frameworks/methodology in co-creating knowledge that centers truth telling, collectivism, and care in working to dismantle systemic racism and violence in educational spaces. In her free time, Hannah enjoys hiking, finding new places to eat, playing Animal Crossing, and drinking copious amounts of matcha lattes
