Prospective students are encouraged to attend an information session to learn more about the program, admissions process, and student experience.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit the materials below through the online application.

Statement of Purpose

Respond to the required prompts addressing leadership experience, use of educational research in practice, future leadership goals, and areas of dissertation interest.

Letters of Recommendation

Three letters of recommendation are required and must be submitted through the online application system. Recommenders should be able to speak to your leadership experience and readiness for doctoral study.

Resume or CV

Submit a current resume or CV that reflects your professional background, leadership roles, and relevant accomplishments.

Writing Sample

Submit an academic or professional writing sample that demonstrates analytical thinking, use of evidence, and clear written communication.

Transcripts

Upload unofficial transcripts from all institutions attended. Official transcripts will be required only if admitted.

Interview

Interviews are required for admission and are conducted by invitation only.

Application Fee

The nonrefundable application fee must be submitted through the online application.

Selection Criteria

The admissions committee looks for evidence of the following in selecting competitive applicants:

  • Strong academic preparation
  • Meaningful leadership experience
  • Outstanding letters of recommendation
  • Readiness for rigorous doctoral study
  • A clear connection between professional goals and doctoral education

After You Apply

Applications are reviewed after the deadline.

Selected applicants are invited to interview.

Final decisions are typically released within four to six weeks after the application deadline.
