Mari Amato

She/Her/Hers

Mari is a community-engaged emerging scholar who is passionate about research that gives students a voice. Her research interests broadly center around fostering the social and emotional wellbeing of marginalized students by examining identity factors, such as culture, gender, and sexuality, as well as demographic factors, including socioeconomic status and race/ethnicity. Her previous work has focused on how intersecting identity factors relate to individuals' lived experiences in schools, identity centered communities, and equity within health services. She aspires to become an academic researcher and professor in institutions of higher education.
