Nora Turriago

Nora Turriago is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Education Studies at the University of California, San Diego. She has worked as an English Language Learner (ELL) teacher in a variety of settings, including a bilingual elementary school in Spain, a study abroad program for Japanese high school students, and, most recently, at a public elementary school in Massachusetts.

Nora is a graduate of Smith College, where she studied history and government. She earned her Master’s degree in Bilingual, English as a Second Language (ESL), and Multicultural Education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She also holds a Massachusetts Teaching License with an endorsement in ESL. Nora is interested in promoting educational equity for English Learners, with a specific focus on policy and program implementation.
