Jordan Jerome Harrison

Jordan Jerome Harrison is a Ph.D. student in the Education Studies Department at UC San Diego. Jordan earned an M.Ed. in Prevention Science and Practice at the Harvard Graduate school of Education as an Urban Scholars Fellow and a B.S. degree in Business Marketing with a minor in Psychology from San Diego State University. He has extensive experience in community-based youth development programming, working at Reality Changers, a City Heights based nonprofit for over 8 years. His experience includes developing community partnerships across sectors, international youth development experiences, national and state-wide policy, advocacy and initiatives to increase the success for Black students, ELL learners and families. Jordan has worked with SDUSD on African American student success, and co-chairs the citizens oversight committee for racial justice examining ways to address antiquated grading policies, teacher diversity and more. In addition to educational equity work that centers Black and Brown students and their identities he serves as a DEI consultant to a variety of school districts, international companies and nonprofits. Harrisons commitment is to co-designing liberating environments for Black communities, students and families.

A qualitative research study focusing on 100+ high school students and their experience with MBTA police.
