Monica Molgaard

Monica Molgaard is a PhD student in Education Studies at UC San Diego. She is a Bay Area native and attended Whittier College where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Child Development and minor in Theatre Arts and Communication. Her research examines the impact of racism within early childhood education, focusing on teacher beliefs/practices around race and racism and children’s understanding of race and racism and their experience within the classroom. She is interested in the implementation of anti-racist and anti-bias education within early child care contexts. Her work lies at the intersection of the theoretical frameworks of developmental theories and Critical Race Theory.
