Erika Reece

 

Erika Reece is a Ph.D. student in Education Studies at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). She is a Southern California native and holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of California, Irvine and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Michigan. Before coming to UC San Diego, Erika taught fourth grade in Detroit, Michigan and worked for an education nonprofit called The Achievement Network. Erika’s research interest revolves around teacher education. She is specifically interested in the way teachers are prepared to work in linguistically and culturally diverse classrooms through the lens of Critical Race Theory.
