Profile
Chenoa is a PhD student in the EDS program. Her undergraduate degree is in US history with an emphasis on indigenous history. Before starting the PhD program Chenoa was a secondary public school teacher. She has led teacher professional development trainings on implicit biases, Indigenous curriculum, anti-racism, and schools’ responsibilities to their LGBTQ+ students. She is currently working on a research initiative with Birch aquarium and CREATE to produce Climate Justice curriculum. Her experiences as a teacher and as a member of the Kumeyaay and LGBTQ community have informed her work and fueled her passion to assist others in their anti-racist and decolonizing efforts.
